ARCHIVED - Elche teen murders family and hides bodies after being banned from the internet
The 15-year-old allegedly hid the bodies of his parents and brother for three days at the family home in the Baix Vinalopo area of Alicante province
Police in Elche have arrested a 15-year-old boy after the dead bodies of his parents and brother, 10, were discovered in a garage at the family home.
The Spanish teen allegedly shot dead three members of his family after he was banned from using the internet as punishment for bad grades at school.
According to police sources, the suspect admitted to arguing with his mother over his poor performance at school on Tuesday February 8, and his video console and mobile phone were confiscated.
The teen then allegedly shot dead his mum and brother with a hunting gun whilst his father was at work. When he returned, his son reportedly turned the gun on his dad, firing more than half a dozen shots in total, before hiding all three bodies in a nearby garage.
The grisly discovery was made by two relatives who, concerned at not having heard from the family for a couple of days, visited the home in the Algoda district of Elche.
The 15-year-old was arrested on Friday February 11 and the home was cordoned off as a team of forensic experts combed the entire property.
The victims' bodies were transferred to the Forensic Anatomical Institute of Alicante where post mortems were being carried out over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the teen remains in custody while the investigation continues and will be placed in the hands of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
