Dark, wet and windy: Alicante weather forecast October 10-13
All of Alicante province can expect overcast skies, chilly breezes and thunderstorms over the weekend
Average temperatures expected in Alicante on Saturday
So far, Alicante and much of the extreme south have dodged the torrential rain and driving winds associated with Storm Kirk, but this is about to change. Just in time for the weekend, a new Atlantic front is expected to sweep in from southern Spain and although its path is by no means certain, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is predicting a chilly, dark and wet few days in Alicante.
Thursday October 10
While much of northern Spain is picking up the pieces after the storm, the day should be pretty calm in Alicante, with partly cloudy skies. A strong wind for the northwest will feel cool in the morning; this will die down somewhat later in the day but it will remain breezy along the coast.
Both day and night-time temperatures will fall.
Friday October 11
After a fairly clear morning the skies will gradually darken during the afternoon and evening, and there’s a chance of showers inland later in the day.
Temperatures will remain largely unchanged but occasionally intense winds will make it feel a lot colder along the northern coast of Alicante.
Saturday October 12
Northern Alicante will start the day very overcast with widespread showers and thunderstorms, which could spread further south as the hours go by.
Compared to the previous couple of days, the southerly breeze will be very light and this will contribute to a slight rise in daytime temperatures.
Sunday October 13
The threat of widespread showers and storms remains in all of Alicante province on Sunday, and again the cloud cover will deepen as the day goes on.
Night-time temperatures should increase in the south but the mercury will drop in most parts at the height of the day. A northeasterly wind will feel blustery on the southern coast during the evening.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this weekend
- Thursday October 10: Min 14ºC; Max 29ºC
- Friday October 11: Min 13ºC; Max 27ºC
- Saturday October 12: Min 15ºC; Max 28ºC
- Sunday October 13: Min 16ºC; Max 30ºC
