ARCHIVED - Covid test results now sent by text in the Valencia region
Test results will be notified by SMS to shorten response times in Alicante and the rest of the Valencia region
Valencia's Regional Ministry of Health is now sending the results of coronavirus diagnostic tests carried out in Primary Care and centralised locations - both PCR and rapid antigen tests - by text in order to shorten response times.
Along with information on whether the test is positive or negative, a link will be attached to a web page with instructions from the updated National Health System Strategy protocol on the measures to be carried out by both infected people and their close contacts.
Similarly, by clicking on the link indicated in the SMS, detailed information on how to correctly isolate at home is also available.
In the event of a positive result, the patient should isolate immediately for at least seven days from the onset of symptoms, and they will be contacted by their primary care physician.
During isolation, the infected person will be actively monitored by their local health centre if deemed necessary, for example if they are aged 70 or older, if they are immunosuppressed, pregnant or have not been immunised.
And if symptoms worsen, the Ministry of Health advises calling the local health centre, the regional line on 900 300 555 or, in serious cases, 112.
For a period of 10 days after the onset of symptoms or the date of diagnosis, the infected person should limit social contacts as much as possible and always wear a mask.
And at the end of the isolation period, the person in question will be considered "clinically and occupationally discharged" unless the health professional attending them indicates otherwise.
