Condado de Alhama community officials meet new owner of Al Kasar Commercial Centre
Officials from the Condado de Alhama Golf Resort’s community of owners meet with new owners of Al Kasar Commercial Centre
As reported in December of 2023 the Al Kasar Commercial Centre in the Condado de Alhama Golf Resort has been sold to a property development company after years of neglect by previous owner Sareb Bank who did not fully engage with their responsibilities as landlord. During recent weeks’ work has been carried out on a number of aspects which have been in need of attention, the new owners also have ambitious plans to further embellish the centre.
President, Alan Burge and Vice President, Ellen Meland of the Condado de Alhama Golf Resort’s community of owners had the first initial meeting with the new owners of Al Kasar Commercial Centre on Friday March 15 2024. The new owners have a large portfolio of properties and are involved in several shopping centres in the area, one of which is a new shopping centre in Lorca.
In exerts from a news release by Vice President, Ellen Meland, the meeting with the new owners was summarised;
“They have interesting plans of how to develop and improve the pool area in the Al Kasar along with other improvements. This is still pending licences and approval from the (Alhama de Murcia) Town Hall. We will share these plans with owners as soon as we have some formal information from the company.
They have started to look at which new businesses they can attract to the Al Kasar and they already have some contracts in place, which will be communicated shortly. These are expected to include new restaurants, bars and some commercial businesses too.”
The new owners also indicated that it is their intent that the Al Kasar will be locked during night time hours after the hospitality businesses have closed, this will be carried out by the security team. They added that the licencing rules in Alhama de Murcia will be strictly followed and the centre will be secured during these closed hours.
The summary when on; “Their aim is to finish as much of the work as possible before the summer season, but this will be pending on approval of the licences.
The carpark is part of their purchase and they have raised concerns that there are campervans parked at the carpark. We ask any owners of campervans to remove their vehicle and remind all owners that this is a private area.
Regarding security, they have agreed that the community CCTV can be installed into the Al Kasar as originally planned, but where permission was previously denied by SAREB, and we are in talks about increased security for the Al Kasar in the summer, this is coupled with the plan that the Al Kasar will be closed at night time outside business hours.
We will continue having regular meetings with the new owners and will publish updates for owners on the progress as soon as we have the official information.
