Cloudy and much cooler this weekend: Alicante weather forecast Sept 26-29
Alicante province should escape the worst of storm Aitor, due to hit Spain in the coming days
Average temperatures expected in Alicante on Saturday
Northern Spain is battening down the hatches in anticipation of the arrival of storm Aitor, predicted to sweep across the north and west of the country from Thursday onwards. While Alicante will escape the worst of this front, the next few days will still be quite cloudy and the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast a drastic drop in temperature over the weekend.
Thursday September 26
The summery weather will hang in there on Thursday, with only partly cloudy skies forecast with plenty of sunny spells. Daytime temperatures will also shoot up, reaching a very unseasonable 34ºC in Orihuela.
It will feel rather breezy throughout the province, but the winds will be relatively warm.
Friday September 27
The skies will be much cloudier on Friday and daytime temperatures will drop by at least a couple of degrees, although most parts will still hover around the 30ºC-mark.
The wind will be light to moderate with a predominance of the westerly component.
Saturday September 28
On Saturday the mercury will drop drastically across the board, remaining in the mid-20s for the most part and evening falling as low as 23ºC inland.
The day will be marked by intervals of high clouds and on the southern coast, moderate winds are expected from the east and northeast.
Sunday September 29
Sunday will be mostly cloudy again with some overcast episodes along the coast. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged and the wind will travel from the east, feeling breezy in coastal areas.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this weekend
- Thursday September 26: Min 18ºC; Max 34ºC
- Friday September 27: Min 15ºC; Max 32ºC
- Saturday September 28: Min 12ºC; Max 26ºC
- Sunday September 29: Min 12ºC; Max 27ºC
