ARCHIVED - Christmas festivities in Pilar de la Horadada: until January 5
A packed programme of festive events, concerts and activities promises to bring Christmas cheer to the Vega Baja town in Alicante province
Fun for all is promised in Pilar de la Horadada this Christmas with an exciting programme of festive events for all the family.
The Christmas line-up kicked off with the turning off of the festive lights and inauguration of the Nativity Scene last Friday at the Town Hall in Plaza Campoamor.
But there are still plenty of free events to entertain all ages taking place over the coming weeks. The bumper line-up is as follows:
- Saturday December 11, 8pm: Theatre performance for adults 'The Exchange' courtesy of Bad Companies at Casa de Cultura (House of Culture).
- Friday December 17, 8pm: Back to Soul Concert at Carpa Municipia, the municipal marquee located at the Raimundo Benedicto Fairgrounds.
- Friday December 17, 8pm: Bonjour Mon Amor Productions will stage a theatre performance for adults titled 'As Long As The Coffee Lasts'.
- Friday December 17, 9pm: Concert 'Lisasinson' at the municipal marquee.
- Saturday December 18, from 11am to 1pm and 4pm to 8pm: Children's activities including rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, zip wire and inflatables at the municipal marquee.
- Monday December 20, 4pm: Christmas sweets workshop for all the family at at the Centro de Ocio para Mayores (Leisure Centre for the Elderly).
- Tuesday and Wednesday, December 21 and 22, 4pm: Domino and Parcheesi Championship at the Centro de Ocio para Mayores.
- Thursday December 23, 5.30pm: Monís Producciones will stage a musical theatre show for all the family titled 'Sherezade: The Thousand and One Nights' at the Casa de Cultura.
- Sunday December 26, 5.30pm: Outdoor theatre production in Plaza de la Iglesia.
- Friday December 31, 11.30am: Children's New Year's Eve Musical Festival and Chimes in Plaza de la Iglesia.
- Friday December 31, 1.30pm: Performance by Cuidad Canalla followed by DJ Pedro Villalba in Plaza de la Iglesia.
- Friday December 31, 4pm: The 7th San Silvestre sports event in Plaza de la Iglesia.
- Sunday January 2, 12.30pm: Children's Show: The World of Mickey Mouse with free candy floss and popcorn for the kids in Plaza de la Iglesia.
- Wednesday January 5, 12.30pm: Children's musical 'Imagilandia' in Plaza de la Iglesia.
- Wednesday January 5, 5pm: The procession of the Three Kings through calles Vicente Blasco Ibañez and Mayor to Plaza de la Iglesia.
Anybody who wishes to deliver a child's letter for the Three Kings can do so at Pilar de la Horadada's Youth Information Centre and Department for Equality between December 13 and January 4 from 8am to 1.30pm and 4pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday.
