ARCHIVED - Car ends up perched precariously on bench after bizarre turn of events at Elche cemetery
The driver forgot to put the handbrake on before the incident in the Baix Vinalopo area of Alicante province

A visit to Elche's New Cemetery resulted in a bizarre turn of events for one motorist whose car ended up perched precariously on top of a bench.
According to Local Police, the driver had rushed out of his car to put rubbish in a bin at around 12.20pm on Sunday January 9, but failed to apply the vehicle's button-operated handbrake and the car rolled down a four-metre slope onto the top of a bench placed at the end of a wall.
Nobody was hurt in the incident, but the car had to be removed using a crane and the wall and bench suffered structural damage.
The extraordinary image has been shared on Elche Local Police's social networks to serve as a warning to other motorists, with the caption: "When stopping or parking your car, make sure it is properly immobilised and, amongst other things, do not leave valuables in sight".
