ARCHIVED - Campsite fire one of two weekend blazes in Torrevieja
Firefighters in the Vega Baja town, Alicante province, were forced to evacuate residents from a block of flats
A fire broke out a campsite in Torrevieja on Sunday February 13, one of two blazes in the town over the weekend.
It's not clear what caused the fire, but a static home Florantilles campsite, next to the CV-95, was completely gutted as flames ripped through the property. Six firefighters equipped with two fire engines managed to bring the flames under control before they spread to nearby fabricated homes, and thankfully no injuries have been reported.

On the previous Saturday, fears for the safety of residents in a block of flats forced the evacuation a residential building in Calle Moriones following a kitchen fire on the ground floor.
Torrevieja Local Police cut off the street as thick black smoke bellowed from the property, and four tenants from the upper floors were ordered to leave their homes whilst firefighters extinguished the flames.
Again, there have been no reports of any injuries.
