Camposol car chase part of a busy night for Mazarron local police

Friday April 12 turned out to be an eventful night for Mazarrón local police, with not one but three traffic stops.

It all started when the driver of a vehicle evaded a routine check point in the Camposol urbanisation and fled the scene. After a prolonged chase involving several police pursuit cars the suspect car was finally stopped in the Totana part of El Paretón. On being apprehended, the driver was tested and proved positive for alcohol.

In a second incident, during a traffic stop the driver of a car was also tested and proved to have an alcohol rate of more than 0.60. Moreover, his driving licence had been suspended due to an outstanding court conviction.

In another incident to which the police had received an emergency call out, the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a traffic accident was found to be under the influence of alcoholic drinks.

All the drivers investigated have been referred to the courts.
