British woman tragically dies after fall from clifftop viewpoint in Mallorca
The 39-year-old plunged around 60 feet from a popular beauty spot in Palma de Mallorca
A 39-year-old British woman has died after falling from a clifftop viewpoint in Palma de Mallorca in Spain’s Balearic Islands. The incident took place on Monday morning, May 19, at the Mirador de es Jonquet, a well-known tourist attraction offering panoramic views over the sea.
Emergency services were alerted at around 8.30am, with local police and paramedics arriving quickly on the scene. The woman was stabilised at the site before being rushed to Son Espases Hospital’s intensive care unit in a critical condition. Despite efforts to save her, she died later that evening.
The viewing point, located in an area famed for its old walls, windmills and turrets, attracts both locals and tourists seeking scenic walks and peaceful surroundings. The woman is reported to have fallen approximately 60 feet from the lookout.
Authorities have confirmed that they are not treating the death as suspicious. Detectives visited the site and have taken witness statements to establish the circumstances of the fall. Sources close to the investigation said no other individuals are being sought in connection with the incident.
It remains unclear whether the woman was visiting the island or residing locally.
