ARCHIVED - Body of missing Irishman found in Alicante, Spain four months after he disappeared
Ken Moore, 53, was travelling alone on the Costa Blanca when he lost contact with his family back in Cork

The body of Kenneth Brian Moore, a 53-year-old Irishman who disappeared while travelling on the Costa Blanca last October has been found on wasteland near Agua Amarga beach in Alicante.
The National Police are still waiting for the results of DNA tests, but are confident the lifeless body belongs to Mr Moore as his passport was next to the corpse.
The tragic discovery was made by staff from a gardening company working at the site in Avenida de Elche at around 6.30pm on Thursday February 16.
They immediately alerted the National Police and when officers arrived at the scene, they found the body face up on the ground in an advanced state of decomposition. His head was resting on a rucksack, and there were no signs of violence, although police are still awaiting the results of a post mortem.
Last November, Mr Moore's distraught family issued a desperate appeal for information from the public to try to locate him.
According to this brother Trevor Moore, the victim had left Cork for Valencia on September 17, and spent a few days in the city before travelling to Alicante and then on to Villamartin in Orihuela Costa.
"We have lost contact with our brother Ken Moore," said Trevor in a heartfelt Facebook post in mid-October. "Ken was holidaying on his own. Our last contact with Ken was on October 10," he added. stressing that it was out of character for him to be out of contact for a long period.
Spain's missing person's bureau SOS Desaparecidos reported Mr Moore officially missing on November 30, two days after a formal police file was opened. Witnesses claimed to have seen the victim at the end of October, and the authorities believe he could have died around this time.
