ARCHIVED - Benidorm skyline continues to grow with plans for three new high-rise apartment blocks
The largest of the three residential towers earmarked for Benidorm's Poniente area will be 40-storeys high

Residential buildings are going up all the time in the Poniente area of Benidorm, an urban development sector that has been under construction at an almost frenetic pace since 2018 with the sight of huge cranes having become commonplace in recent years.
And this growth doesn't appear to be slowing down with three new apartment towers adding almost 400 homes to the resort's portfolio scheduled for completion in 2025.
Similar to those that have been erected in recent years in the 2/1 Poniente sector, all three buildings will be high-rise, with one of them set to become one of the tallest in Benidorm.
The largest of the three will be 40 storeys high, with the others reaching 30 and 24 levels and are part of the two new TM Real Estate Group projects.
A little over a decade ago, the Poniente partial plan was just a project on paper. The Intempo building was under construction, albeit riddled with problems, in a largely undeveloped area.
Now, the area between Avenida Vicente Pérez Devesa and Avenida Armada Española, parallel to the beachfront, looks very different with a barrage of apartment blocks more than 20 storeys high.
Torrevieja-based TW Real Estate has already built a two-tower complex in the 131,000 m2 Poniente 2/1 sector, Sunset Waves, and will now add south-facing Sunset Sailors (two buildings) and Eagle Tower.
The first residential complex will have a 30 and a 40-storey tower in the shape of two sailing ships, offering 286 homes of various types, according to a company statement.
They will also have 11,400 m2 of communal areas, and be equipped with electric vehicle chargers and 90 solar panels to be more sustainable and save on consumption.
The third will be located closer to Benidorm's El Moralet park and have 24 floors and 108 dwellings, also of various types, in addition to 5,400 m2 of communal areas.
TM Real Estate Group's urban development activity in Poniente began in 2015 on the beachfront. Since then, it has invested 335 million of the 600 million planned and expects to add 960 more homes in Benidorm with future residential developments.
In total, 840 homes have already been built in several high-rise buildings which, according to a company spokesman, bring together between 2,500 and 3,000 residential tourists from up to 36 countries.
"They spend a combined 250,000 euros a day in the municipality, and they reside in Benidorm an average of four months a year," he added.
In addition to new homes, the real estate group is awaiting approval for the construction of an athletics track in the town.
