Prepare for an amazing celebration as the San Agustín patron saint fiesta returns to Fuente Álamo from August 23 to September 1.
Join the community in honouring their beloved patron saint, San Agustín, and immerse yourself in the magic and tradition of these highly anticipated festivities.
For ten days, the municipality transforms into a vibrant hub of activities, bringing together locals and visitors in a spirit of unity and joy. With a varied program of events, there's something for everyone, blending tradition, culture and fun for all ages.
Here are some of the highlights of the 2024 edition:
- Friday August 23: Kick off the festivities with a bang at the traditional chupinazo, signalling the start of an exciting series of events.
- Sunday August 25: Enjoy the colourful parade through the streets, followed by the Misa Rociera, featuring a performance by the Coro Rociero Arte Payá at midday. The Gran Vía will come alive with live music and tapas tastings on the Día Rociero.
- Monday August 26: Take part in the Floral Offering to San Agustín, a beautiful tribute to the patron saint.
- Tuesday August 27: Show off your creativity at the Costume Contest, adding a touch of whimsy to the celebrations.
- Wednesday August 28: Mark the patron saint's big day with a Solemn Procession, followed by a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the night sky.
- Sunday September 1: Don't miss the grand finale, featuring the Parade of Troupes and Floats, and the highly anticipated concert by Paco Candela in the Municipal Auditorium. The traditional end-of-festival fireworks will bring the festivities to a close with a bang.
"We want everyone to enjoy and feel part of these festivities that are the heart and soul of Fuente Álamo," Councillor for Celebrations, María de los Ángeles Nortes, concluded.
