Attempted bank robbery thwarted by police on Camposol
Mazarrón Local Police officers quickly arrested the suspect
Early on Saturday morning, December 6, police in Mazarrón arrested a man following an attempted break-in at a bank in the Camposol residential area. The incident began when the Region of Murcia’s 112 emergency call centre reported the activation of the bank’s alarm, prompting a swift response from the local authorities.
A patrol on routine duties arrived quickly at the scene and found significant damage to the bank’s main entrance. Officers discovered the suspect inside the branch and arrested him immediately.
He now faces charges for the vandalism and any additional offences that may come to light during the ongoing investigation.
Additional local police units, who were on duty for the town’s patron saint festivities, joined the scene, alongside Guardia Civil officers from Puerto de Mazarrón. They helped secure the bank and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attempted robbery.
At this stage, authorities have not released the identity of the arrested individual, nor confirmed whether any money or valuables were taken. The investigation is ongoing.
