The care package worth 200 euros was handed to the Alfaz del Pi Social Volunteers Assocation last week
The University of the Third Age (U3A) has made a new donation to the Social Volunteer Association of Alfaz del Pi, including a batch of food and basic necessities valued at 200 euros.
The official delivery took place in a local supermarket and was attended by the Vice President of U3A, Elisabeth Potter, the treasurer, Anne McGrath, and Alan Martin, one of the members of the group. Representing the Social Volunteer Assocation of Alfaz del Pi were the president of the group, Antonio Viso, along with the treasurer Johana Wilson and volunteer Magdalena van den Bos. The Councillor for Residents of Other Nationalities, Martine Mertens, and the Councillor for Cooperation and Volunteering, Isabel Muñoz, were there representing the Alfaz del Pi Town Council.
Established more than a decade ago, U3A Marina Baixa covers the areas of Alfaz del Pi, Benidorm, Callosa d’en Sarrià, Finestrat, La Nucía, Polop and Villajoyosa. They meet once a month in the Casa de Cultura Alfasina. Formed mainly of British retirees, the group’s main objective is to promote cultural and intellectual interest among its members while creating new bonds of friendship.
The University of the Third Age (U3A) organises all kinds of activities, from language, history and Spanish culture courses to painting classes, bridge, digital photography, golf, petanque, classical music, trips, picnics and loads more.
