According to Local Police, who were sent to the scene along with emergency medical services, the car driven by the arrested driver collided with a motorbike ridden by the deceased, dragging both the fatally wounded biker and his wife, 68, "a considerable distance from the scene of the crash".
Rather than stopping, the driver continued in the direction of Avenida Kansas City before he crashed into another motorcyclist, aged 38, who was also injured.
Medics tried for an hour to resuscitate the first biker, but to no avail.
The deceased's injured wife and the second motorcyclist were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Meanwhile, the 50-year-old drunk driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he remained over the weekend.
Sevilla Local Police are carrying out their own investigation to clarify exactly what happened.
