ARCHIVED - Mains gas arrives in Torrevieja
45 kilometres of gas pipes are being laid in Torrevieja

The rest of the work on gas supply infrastructures is scheduled to last two years, but in the Los Balcones area the first residents can now receive mains gas, and this means that the liquefied natural gas plant in the health centre can now be decommissioned. The “Dr. Manuel García Gea” is also now receiving mains gas, which is the most environmentally friendly form of fossil fuel.
Gas Natural Cegas is continuing work to ensure that the rest of the town will soon be able to enjoy the same service, with work starting this week in Calle Rafal and Calle La Paz, and eventually the supply pipe network will total 45 kilometres, reaching a reported 97,000 homes and businesses in the municipality.
The Cegas network in the Comunitat Valenciana now includes around 644,500 supply points and 7,800 kilometres of pipes, reaching 195 municipalities.
