April 11-14 Guardamar Neighbour Party featuring food, entertainment and more
Sample some tapas, browse through the markets and enjoy the atmosphere at this unique Costa Blanca weekend event
The El Raso urbanisation in Guardamar del Segura is ready to debut its eagerly anticipated Neighbourhood Party this weekend, brimming with entertainment and appetising delights for all ages. On Thursday April 11 and Friday 12, locals and tourists can sink their teeth into the International Tapa Route's second edition, presenting ten establishments offering culturally diverse cuisine – from Indian to Argentine tapas.
Running from 12pm until 6pm, savoury morsels paired with drinks will be available for only 3 euros each. Featured menu highlights include tastes from Peru, meat-filled pastries, Japanese mushrooms, stuffed peaches and Spanish rice. Attendees can easily get from restaurant to restaurant using the shuttle service supplied by the council.
The Councillor for Festivals, María Venerdi, pointed out that “last year, nearly 3,000 tapas were served in a single day,” highlighting the great reception and the gastronomic variety that this initiative offers.
The excitement extends beyond culinary adventures. On Saturday evening, April 13, the Campo Auditorium Party bursts onto the scene, teeming with dancing, live music, creative workshops and more tasty treats lasting deep into the night.
Then, on Sunday April 14, enjoy a Dog Show, featuring amusing categories such as “Dog most similar to its owner”, “Waggiest tail” and “Best costume”. Alongside this furry extravaganza, an arts and crafts fair will take place with more than twenty vendors presenting sweet delicacies and local wares.
The Neighbourhood Party, in addition to being a fun weekend, is a solidarity event, since all of the proceeds raised will be used to support local organisations such as ADIMAR, the Mental Health Association of Guardamar (ASMEGU) and the animal shelter SAT.
