Andalucía weekly weather forecast January 5-8: Some rain, frosty starts and sunshine to end the week
A cold and frosty start to the week with sub-zero temperatures inland, easing into milder, sunnier conditions by Thursday
Freezing nights, scattered showers and a dusting of mountain snow mark the start of the week across Andalucía, before skies brighten and daytime temperatures slowly recover. The region faces a real taste of winter early on, especially inland, while coastal areas enjoy slightly milder but breezier conditions.
Monday January 5
Andalucía weather forecast, Monday January 5
Monday begins cloudy with light to moderate rain, easing through the afternoon in the west around Huelva and Cádiz, but staying heavier for a time along the eastern Mediterranean coast. The snow line drops to around 500–600 metres in places, while maxima lift in the southwest but fall elsewhere. Light to moderate frost is possible over higher ground, and northerly winds bring a chill inland, becoming strong with gusts in the far east.
Tuesday January 6
Andalucía weather forecast, Tuesday January 6
A colder day overall with cloudy skies and patchy moderate rain on the eastern Mediterranean side, fading later. Snow falls above 400–500 metres, and temperatures plunge overnight across the region, dropping as low as –10°C in Granada early in the morning. Inland areas such as Córdoba and Jaén also wake to widespread frost, while skies gradually turn clearer from the west. Northerly winds remain light to moderate.
Wednesday January 7
Andalucía weather forecast, Wednesday January 7
Clearer and brighter for midweek, with sunshine across much of the region before scattered high cloud arrives later. It remains cold first thing, but daytime highs climb into the mid-teens, especially around Málaga and Almería. Frost lingers inland and is moderate in parts of the east, but the afternoon feels more comfortable with light to moderate westerly breezes.
Thursday January 8
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday January 8
A chilly start inland gives way to a crisp, bright day. Sunshine dominates for many areas including Seville and Tarifa, with partial cloud only later on. Temperatures rise a little, marking the end of the cold snap, though light frost continues to form in sheltered eastern valleys. Winds stay light and variable, turning westerly during the afternoon.
As Andalucía moves into the first full week of 2026, the weather shifts from wintry to milder and brighter, offering a calmer spell to enjoy after the cold, blustery start to the new year.
