Andalucía weekend weather forecast May 7-10: Storms in the east, then a wetter, cooler finish
A mixed week of heavy showers, thunderstorms and some brighter spells later on
After a relatively calm start to the week, Andalucía turns much more changeable from Thursday, with the eastern provinces facing the most active weather. Heavy showers, thunder and hail are all possible at times, while the Atlantic side should see a bit more in the way of dry spells before rain spreads more widely by the weekend.Thursday May 7
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday May 7Thursday looks unsettled in the east, where very cloudy skies will bring locally heavy and stormy showers, with hail and very strong gusts possible at times. Yellow warnings are in place for rain and storms in Almería, Granada and Jaen. Elsewhere, it should stay drier at first with partly cloudy skies, although cloud will build through the day and high cloud will spread in during the afternoon. Temperatures change very little, with nights a touch milder and daytime highs easing back a little on the Mediterranean coast.
Friday May 8
Andalucía weather forecast, Friday May 8Friday begins cloudier, with some light rain likely in the eastern third during the first half of the day before conditions improve later on. The rest of the region should see a mix of cloud and brighter intervals, with cloud building again as the day goes on. Temperatures are only likely to shift slightly, perhaps edging up in a few places. Along the eastern coast and through the Strait, including Málaga and Tarifa, winds stay light easterly with occasional moderate gusts, while the Atlantic side sees a light southwest breeze.
Saturday May 9
Andalucía weather forecast, Saturday May 9Saturday turns wetter again, with very cloudy skies and widespread moderate rain across Andalucía. The rain should start to ease from east to west during the afternoon, but it will still be a damp day for many, including Seville and Córdoba. Temperatures slip back a little, and winds freshen from the southwest, becoming moderate through the morning after a lighter start.
Sunday May 10
Andalucía weather forecast, Sunday May 10Sunday brings a more gloomy picture, with partly cloudy skies and moderate rain focused on the Atlantic side, around Huelva and Cádiz. It should feel a little brighter in the east, where temperatures rise again and Córdoba could reach 25°C. Light to moderate southwesterly winds keep the air moving, but the day should feel less unsettled than Saturday.
The new week looks set to stay changeable, with showers still in the mix throughout the region, but brighter spells trying to break through.
