Andalucía weekend weather forecast February 21-23: A cloudy and damp start, clearing up by Sunday
Expect cloudy skies, scattered rain and a touch of sunshine to finish the weekend

On Friday February 21, expect overcast skies across much of Andalucía, with Saharan dust suspended in the air in places like Málaga. Rain will move into the western provinces, including Huelva, Seville and Cádiz, from the afternoon onwards. These showers will be generally light to moderate, though some heavier bursts are possible, and where it mixes with the calima will produce muddy, red rain. Meanwhile, the Mediterranean coastline, including Málaga, Nerja and Almeria, will start the day with patches of low cloud and early morning mist, with some areas experiencing fog. Minimum temperatures will see a slight rise in the Atlantic-facing areas, while maximums will begin to drop, although local variations may occur. Winds will be moderate from the east in coastal regions, particularly in Cádiz and along the Mediterranean, but will ease later in the day, becoming lighter and more variable elsewhere.

Andalucía weather forecast, Friday February 21
Moving into Saturday February 22, cloudy conditions will persist, bringing more widespread rainfall across the region. The heaviest showers are expected in and around the Strait of Gibraltar, affecting Cádiz and coastal areas near Algeciras. Elsewhere, the rain will be patchier but still present throughout the day. By the afternoon, drier weather will begin to push in from the west, gradually clearing skies from Huelva to Seville. In the Sierra Nevada and other mountainous regions around Granada and Jaén, colder air will see the snowline drop to around 1,700 metres, with a chance of some light snowfall on the higher peaks. Temperatures will hold steady along the coast but dip further inland, with the coldest readings coming in the evening. Winds will shift to the west, remaining light to moderate but occasionally picking up to stronger gusts along the Mediterranean coastline.

Andalucía weather forecast, Saturday February 22
By Sunday February 23, the weather will take a turn for the better. Skies will clear across Andalucia, leaving most areas with a bright and sunny day. Some morning mist and low cloud are likely in inland areas such as Córdoba and Jaen, but these will soon burn off to reveal blue skies. However, the temperatures will reflect the recent cooling trend, with a colder start to the day, particularly in eastern mountainous areas, where light frost is possible. Minimum temperatures will be notably lower, while daytime highs will begin to climb again, especially in Huelva, Seville and Granada. Winds will be light and variable, making for a much calmer end to the weekend.

Andalucía weather forecast, Sunday February 23
Overall, while the weekend begins on a grey and damp note, Sunday offers a brighter and more settled day across the region. Make sure to wrap up warm in the mornings, and if you're heading outdoors, Sunday is the best bet for dry and pleasant conditions.
