Andalucía weekly weather forecast March 9-12: Chilly start, then brighter and milder
Cold air, mountain snow and rain giving way to warming sunshine by midweek
After a cooler, cloudy and wet few days, the start of this week in Andalucía keeps things on the unsettled and rather chilly side, especially inland and in the east. As we move through the week though, though, the skies start to brighten and temperatures begin to climb again, hinting at a more springlike feel returning to much of the region.Monday March 9
Andalucía weather forecast, Monday March 9Monday begins on a fairly quiet note with partly cloudy skies and some early low cloud, mist and fog in places, particularly around coastal areas such as Cádiz. Through the morning it becomes more generally cloudy from west to east, with light to moderate rain at times, heavier over higher ground but less likely along the Mediterranean shoreline. Temperatures show only slight changes, sitting in the mid teens for many, with Cádiz just shy of 19ºC, and light, variable winds gradually turning westerly and picking up along the coast later in the day.
Tuesday March 10
Andalucía weather forecast, Tuesday March 10Tuesday is a colder, more wintry-feeling day, especially inland. Skies stay very cloudy or overcast with scattered showers, these more frequent and heavier in the eastern interior. Snow is likely above about 900 to 1,000 metres, and Granada starts close to 1ºC at dawn and only creeps up to around 8ºC in the afternoon, with a marked drop in maximum temperatures in that part of the region. Winds are light and variable inland, while along the coasts, including around Málaga and Almería, a moderate westerly eases down gradually later on.
Wednesday March 11
Andalucía weather forecast, Wednesday March 11By Wednesday, things start to improve, particularly across the northwest half of Andalucía where skies are predominantly clear. Elsewhere it is partly cloudy with the chance of a few scattered showers, more likely and heavier in the far east near Jaén. Night-time temperatures are similar or a touch lower, but daytime values feel noticeably higher, especially inland, where it will start to feel less raw than earlier in the week. Winds remain light and variable, so any sunshine will be quite welcome.
Thursday March 12
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday March 12Thursday brings the most pleasant day of the week for many, with predominantly clear skies and just some daytime cloud bubbling up over the hills. Temperatures are on the rise, and places like Seville, Córdoba and Huelva should all reach the low twenties, giving a much milder feel than earlier in the week. Winds stay light and variable for most, with a more moderate easterly breeze picking up in the far east and around Tarifa, though it should still feel fairly comfortable in the sunshine.
This brighter, generally milder pattern looks set to carry on into the following days across much of Andalucía.
