Andalucía weekly weather forecast February 5-8: Stormy rain, strong winds and orange alerts
Persistent downpours and blustery conditions linger across Andalucía
After the heavy rains and school closures brought by Storm Leonardo this week, Andalucía is set for more unsettled weather through to Sunday, with frequent cloud, persistent rain and notably strong winds, especially in the east. Orange wind alerts are active for Thursday in the eastern half of the province, while the west remains on yellow. Conditions should ease a touch by the weekend, but expect it to stay rather damp and fresh.Thursday February 5

Some clearing is likely in the afternoon. Minimum temperatures hold steady or drop in the west, but lift noticeably in the eastern interior around Granada. Daytime highs are unchanged on the Mediterranean coast near Málaga but rise elsewhere. Southwesterly winds blow moderate, with strong gusts and very strong gusts in the eastern third.

Andalucía weather forecast, Friday February 6Very cloudy spells bring light to moderate rain, locally persistent and occasionally heavy near Tarifa and Almería. The snow line drops to 1200-1400 metres later on. Temperatures fall across the board. Southwesterly winds are light to moderate, with strong intervals and very strong gusts in the Strait of Gibraltar and eastern areas. Almería is on yellow wind alert, but other places look slightly calmer.

Andalucía weather forecast, Saturday February 7Cloud persists with moderate, locally heavy and persistent rain around Huelva and the western coast near Cádiz, plus thunderstorms possible on the eastern Mediterranean side. Clearing develops on the Atlantic slope later. The snow line sits around 1200 metres early, rising quickly. Maximum temperatures fall in the eastern third. Westerly winds are moderate inland and strong along the coast and higher ground, with occasional very strong gusts.
Sunday February 8
Andalucía weather forecast, Sunday February 8Cloudy skies linger on the Atlantic coast with light to moderate rain, heavier in the mountains near Seville, while the Mediterranean coast sees partly cloudy conditions around Málaga. The snow line is 1000-1200 metres. Daytime highs rise on the Mediterranean but stay unchanged or fall elsewhere. Westerly winds are moderate to strong on the Mediterranean coast and eastern highlands near Jaén, with very strong gusts, and light to moderate elsewhere.
Expect a wet and windy few days ahead, but with temperatures holding up reasonably well - perfect weather for staying cosy indoors.
