ARCHIVED - Alicante firefighters put out El Campello wildfire started by barbecue
The small fire took place in Campello, going in the direction of Aigües

The Consorcio de Bomberos de Alicante, the Alicante Firefighters Consortium, has reported that they were forced to fly out in a helicopter to Campello on Sunday afternoon, September 11, to extinguish a forest fire caused by a barbecue.
The fire was apparently started by accident, in El Campello going in the direction of Aigües.
Although there is more rain forecast across Spain now than in the last couple of months, the risk of wildfires remains high and by no means do they only occur in summer, so it’s important to still be prudent and not have any barbecues or leave any litter in the countryside to avoid accidentally starting a fire.
