Alicante weekend weather forecast May 8-11: Stormy start before a calmer weekend
The lead-up to the weekend sees Alicante province on alert for thunderstorms and driving rain

Weather outlook on Sunday May 11
As severe weather continues to impact large areas of Spain this week, with storms, heavy rain and unseasonably low temperatures, Alicante is also feeling the effects, though conditions are expected to improve as the weekend goes on.
Thursday May 8

Expect mostly cloudy skies throughout the day, becoming more overcast in the afternoon. Widespread showers are likely later in the day, and they could be locally intense, with thunderstorms and hail possible.
Minimum temperatures will drop slightly, while daytime highs remain relatively stable. Winds will be light and variable, though it will become breezy in the afternoon.
Yellow weather alerts have been issued by Aemet for storms and heavy rainfall, affecting both the northern and southern coasts as well as inland areas of Alicante.
Friday May 9

Conditions will improve slightly on Friday. The day will start with partly cloudy skies, with some cloud build-up expected in the afternoon, but no significant rainfall is expected.
Minimum temperatures will stay fairly steady, while the mercury will begin to rise during the day. Winds will be light, with westerly breezes inland and gentle sea breezes along the coast later in the day.
Thankfully, all weather alerts have been lifted.
Saturday May 10

Cloudy skies will continue on Saturday, with a chance of rain in the northern half of the province. Some scattered showers can't be ruled out further south either.
Minimum temperatures will rise in the north, remaining stable elsewhere, while maximums will vary slightly. Winds will be light and variable, tending southward in Alicante during the afternoon.
Sunday May 11

The skies will stay mostly cloudy, with a continued chance of light rain or showers. Temperatures are expected to remain steady and winds will stay light and variable.

- Friday May 9: Min 10ºC; Max 26ºC
- Saturday May 10: Min 11ºC; Max 25ºC
