ARCHIVED - 49-year-old drowns on El Postiguet beach, Alicante
The latest drowning is one of a long series of deaths on Spanish beaches this summer
A 49-year-old man sadly drowned late yesterday evening, Thursday September 8, on El Postiguet beach in Alicante.
The emergency services were alerted at around 10pm on Wednesday after the victim was pulled unconscious from the water on Alicante’s city beach.
An ambulance was sent to the scene and the medical team tried to recover the man using advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres and other stabilisation techniques, but he was already dead.
The judicial autopsy will reveal the official causes of the drowning.
