2.8 magnitude earthquake in Murcia
The seismic movement had its epicentre in Moratalla yesterday

An earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale was recorded shortly after 1pm on Tuesday December 12 with its epicentre in the Moratalla district of Tazona, according to the National Geographic Institute (IGN).
The tremor occurred at surface level at 13.02 local time at latitude 38.3072 and longitude -1.8375.
It was not a strong one, though, and the IGN did not receive any calls from residents who felt it northwest of Moratalla, near the province of Albacete, nor were there any emergency situations reported as a result of the quake.
Such minor quakes are not unusual in this part of Spain, but most of the time are too weak to be felt or to cause major damage.
