ARCHIVED - Yellow weather warning for high temperatures in Alicante July 30 and 31
Mercury is expected to rise to 38 degrees in inland areas of Alicante province, with milder temperatures along the coast
The state met agency, Aemet, has issued a yellow weather warning in parts of Alicante with temperatures forecast to reach 38 degrees in inland areas on Friday and Saturday, July 30 and 31.
Coastal towns are expected to be cooler, though can still expect maximum temperatures of 33 degrees.
The warnings are in effect from 12 noon until 9pm, with a slight drop on Saturday, though conditions are likely to remain "hot and muggy".
A yellow weather warning has also been issued in the neighbouring region of Murcia.
