ARCHIVED - Watch Video: Vulture stops traffic as it struts down Benidorm streets
A huge bird of prey was found wandering around the streets of the city in the Marina Baixa area
Benidorm residents were astonished to find an enormous vulture walking brazenly in the middle of the city’s roads this weekend. The bird, which was caught on video by bemused bystanders, forced police to close the street to traffic while animal control services arrived.

After the video was shared on social media, commenters praised the courage of the man who eventually captured the bird with his bare hands.
The province of Alicante is no stranger to large vultures, and while some are saved from dangerous situations in human environments, others are not so lucky and fall prey to electricity pylons and other manmade obstacles.
