ARCHIVED - Vulture dies after being electrocuted on pylon in Alicante mountain range
The raptor was found dead at the top of a medium voltage tower on the Miserà peak in Pego, Alicante province
A vulture was tragically found dead on top of an electricity pylon in Pego on Wednesday afternoon, October 20, one of the towers that feeds the antennas on Miserà peak.
The electrical installations located at the top of the mountain apparently lack insulation, and it appears the bird of prey was electrocuted when it came into contact with the tower and uninsulated line.
As a result, the vulture lost its life and the electricity supply to the antennas was interrupted, forcing engineers to bring in a generator to restore power.
