ARCHIVED - Violent fight erupts amongst San Javier youngsters
Aggressors used knives, stones, bottles and chairs to attack party-goers in San Javier, Murcia
Five young people aged between 21 and 24 have been identified as the perpetrators of a violent fight at a rental property in San Javier on Sunday October 10, which left several people needing medical attention.
Last Sunday at around 4am, the Policía Local in the municipality of San Javier received an emergency call about a fight which had broken out near the motorway. Officers travelled to the scene, a house in Los López de la Grajuela, where they found three injured youngsters along with other witnesses who told the police that a group of Maghrebs had instigated the fight, throwing chairs, bottles and stones as well as using knives, and that the aggressors had then fled in a grey Golf.
The vehicle was located soon after parked outside the health centre in San Javier and the group claimed that one of their friends, who had injuries on his knuckles, arms and chin, had fallen down some stairs in a pub in Lo Pagán. Officers also discovered that the injured immigrant was using someone else’s residency card to receive medical attention.
According to witnesses, the house had been rented out for a birthday and the instigators were all known by the hosts and had been invited to the party, but at a certain point during the night, they carried out the attack.
The investigation has now been handed over to the Guardia Civil, who will be attempting to discover more details about the fight.
