ARCHIVED - Until April 1 Ad Intra Semana Santa exhibition in Mazarron
The annual Semana Santa exhibition is being held in the church of the Purísima Concepción in Mazarrón
Throughout Spain there is already a great sense of anticipation ahead of the Semana Santa processions this year, and the town of Mazarrón is no exception.
February 22 was Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, and already the “Ad Intra” exhibition is being held for the third time in the church of the Purísima Concepción in Mazarrón. Attending the official opening of the exhibition, Mayor Gaspar Miras highlighted the role of the event in sharing the religious imagery of the municipality with the public at large, congratulating the groups which take part in the annual Easter processions on having held this event for the first time when pandemic restrictions were still in place, in 2021.
Also present at the official opening of the exhibition were the parish priest of San Antonio de Padua y San Andrés Apóstol, Antonio Martínez, and the president of the Cofradías federation, Laly Agüera.
The Ad Intra exhibition in the church of the Purísima Concepción runs until April 1 and can be visited from Monday to Saturday between 9.30 am and 1.30 pm. QR codes are present in each of the chapels to enable visitors to access information and explanations.
