Around 2,000 tourists will be able to visit Cartagena, Murcia, while their cruises are docked in the port
In addition to the crowds of locals celebrating the Romans and Carthaginians fiestas this weekend in Cartagena, around 2,000 tourists from two cruise ships will also be able to enjoy the festivities. The first ship, the Aidaperla, arrived on Wednesday September 24, after visiting other Spanish ports such as Málaga, Cádiz, Palma de Mallorca as well as Gibraltar. Aidaperla has room for up to 2,000 passengers, but is not sailing at full occupancy due to coronavirus restrictions. On Friday September 24, the second ship will arrive, named The World, which is the largest residential yacht in the world, with 165 residents’ cabins, ranging from one-bedroom studios to triple apartments. The cost of one of these ‘floating apartments’ ranges between 1.2 and 7.5 million dollars. Two more cruise ships, Bolette and Marella Explorer, are scheduled to dock in Cartagena on September 29, with around 1,500 passengers each, and on September 30, the enormous Costa Diadema, with 2,475 passengers, will stop in Cartagena.Image: The World
