ARCHIVED - Twenty guided tours of Jumilla taking place between February and June
The first tour is a special night-time visit around Jumilla on Saturday February 5
Jumilla’s Tourism Department has put together a programme of guided tours from now until June, offering an unmissable opportunity to visit the Castillo de Jumilla, the Coimbra archaeological site and the Sierra de la Pedrera amongst other attractions.
“There will be more than 20 tours that will showcase the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the municipality on different dates and in different ways, including dramatised routes and night tours,” explained Jumilla Mayor, Juana Guardiola.
Last year, the Town Hall offered 36 tours, which began in April due to the Covid pandemic, and attracted more than 700 people.
Participants visited the castle, the Old Town, Jumilla Cemetery, the Iberian site of Coimbra, the Hoya de la Sima, the mountain ranges of El Carche and La Pedrera and the ‘fossil footprints’.
“The numbers of visits registered in the different tourist resources of the municipality have improved in 2021, compared to 2020, but still do not reach the pre-pandemic figures because they are being carried out in small groups adapted to the different health regulations established at all times,” added the Town Hall.
