ARCHIVED - Three injured in four-car pile-up on the A-7 in Alicante
The crash happened in Ibi in the direction of Alcoy and Valencia causing significant tailbacks
Three people were injured, one seriously, following a four-car collision on the A-7 as it passes through Ibi in the direction of Alcoy and Valencia on Sunday afternoon, May 15.
An initial rear-end crash happened just before 3.30pm at kilometre 463 resulting in a multi-vehicle pile-up when a further two cars careered into the wreckage.

The regional government's HLC 09 rescue helicopter and two ambulances were deployed along with six Alicante provincial firefighters, a pump and two emergency vehicles. Two men and a woman were freed from their vehicles having become trapped and suffering from injuries of "varying degrees".
The latter sustained a serious open leg injury and was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
There were significant traffic delays and tailbacks, according to the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), while the crash scene was cleared. Normal traffic flow was restored at 6.45pm
