Ryanair confirms Corvera Airport safe from cuts: UK and Ireland summer 2026 routes announced
Ryanair is keeping eight international routes from Murcia this summer, with 48 weekly flights and expected passenger growth of 12%

For now, Murcia has stayed on the right side of Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary. The always interesting Irish airline has confirmed that Murcia International Airport (Corvera) will not be affected by the recent schedule cuts across Spain.
Alejandra Ruiz, Ryanair's spokesperson in Spain, told local media that the airline is 'very happy' with operations in the Region of Murcia. Passenger numbers are expected to reach around 625,000 between November 2025 and October 2026, a 12% increase on last year.
Despite concerns over rising airport fees from Aena, the Spanish state-owned company that manages most airports in the country, Ryanair is maintaining a strong presence in Murcia this summer. The airline will operate eight international routes, seven to the UK and one to Dublin, Ireland, with a total of 48 weekly flights, which is an increase of 9% from last year.
The destinations include Birmingham, East Midlands, Glasgow Prestwick, Manchester, London Stansted, London Luton, Bournemouth and Dublin.
Several routes will see extra weekly flights: Birmingham will have four, East Midlands five, Glasgow Prestwick six and Manchester nine. Dublin will have six weekly flights, London Luton five and Bournemouth three. London Stansted remains the most popular, with 10 weekly flights.
Some routes may add another weekly flight on busier days to meet higher passenger demand.
Even though Corvera is a relatively small airport, the strong demand for travel to Murcia means Ryanair can handle the higher fees without affecting flights, unlike other smaller regional airports, where higher costs can make routes unprofitable.
Ryanair has also announced that early-bird fares are available from €24.99 if booked by February 12, subject to availability.
