ARCHIVED - Puerto Lumbreras to abolish fees when applying for IBI and road tax rebates
The municipality in the Murcia region will also introduce new tax refunds on urban planning licences
Puerto Lumbreras in Murcia has announced their intention to modify two laws relating to tax payments in 2022, including abolishing the need to pay a fee when applying for tax rebates and exemptions in municipal taxes such as property tax (IBI) and road tax.
“Thanks to this measure, Lumbrerenses will be able to apply for these allowances and exemptions free of charge at the Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria) of the Region of Murcia,” said a spokesperson for Puerto Lumbreras City Council.
The changes to tax laws in the municipality also include a new tax rebate: “In addition, we are introducing a new 70% rebate on urban planning licences, aimed at works that favour access and habitability for people with disabilities.”
Finally, the Town Hall in Puerto Lumbreras has promised not to bring in any new tax increases for 2022: “The government team will not make any tax increases for 2022, as we have been doing for seven years, also maintaining bonuses and exemptions.”
