ARCHIVED - Pfizer pharmaceutical company to open office in Murcia
The new office will be located in the Scientific Park on the outskirts of Murcia city
The American pharmaceutical company Pfizer, best known for being the makers of the Pfizer Covid vaccine, are going to open an office in the Scientific Park in the Region of Murcia.
Pfizer’s new office will aim to promote and develop innovation projects, support biomedical entrepreneurship initiatives and collaborate with public and private entities in the health field.
The Scientific Park in Murcia is located on the Espinardo Campus of the University of Murcia, where 15 other companies from different productive sectors are also installed and actively working towards finding scientific and technological solutions for diverse problems.
According to the Minister of Business, Employment and Universities, Valle Miguélez, the installation of the pharmaceutical giants in Murcia will contribute enormously towards the growth and consolidation of the regional innovative ecosystem.
She also mentioned that “the presence of Pfizer will serve to reinforce business collaborations with public-private healthcare entities and with entrepreneurs, with an enormous capacity for growth in the short and medium term”.
The majority of the Spanish population has received Pfizer Covid vaccines, with 52,895,871 doses of the vaccine having been administered in Spain as of September 17, compared to just 10,752,630 Moderna vaccines, 9,202,000 AstraZeneca doses and 2,400,410 Janssen jabs.
