ARCHIVED - Open-air marihuana plantation found in Murcia mountains
The large plantation in Abanilla (Murcia) was only accessible by foot
The Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia have dismantled an open-air marihuana plantation located in a mountainous area of the Abanilla municipality which was only accessible by foot.
A young man, local to the area, has been arrested in connection to the plantation, which contained around 270 marihuana plants in an advanced state of growth.
Upon receiving information that there could be a large marihuana plantation in the area, police officers set up surveillance in the area and managed to catch the 26-year-old while he was sulphating his plants.
Officers also found a large water container, hidden among the undergrowth, on the plantation, which was presumably being used to water the marihuana plants.
