ARCHIVED - Los Carteles de Picasso in Mula
The exhibition of posters by Picasso is in situ until 3rd March
A collection of fifty-nine posters designed by Pablo Picasso is being exhibited for the first time in the Museo del Cigarralejo in Mula, and is open to the public until 3rd March.
Most of the works on display are lithographs created by the Málaga-born artist, and were first exhibited between 1955 and 1984 (eleven years after his death). Many were originally commissioned for exhibitions and shows in which Picasso’s work was on display, such as the annual exhibition at Vallauris near Cannes and others in which he was the sole exhibitor, but others are strictly political in nature. This last category includes one featuring the dove of peace which the artist produced in Issy-les-Moulineaux (in the south-west of Paris) in 1962.
