ARCHIVED - March 24 to May 7 Duende Africano exhibition in Mazarron
The Universidad Popular in Mazarrón holds a virtual exhibition of African tribal art
A fascinating array of ethnic African artifacts such as masks, sculpted figures and decorative objects is being displayed in a virtual exhibition at the Universidad Popular in Mazarrón from Friday March 24 to Sunday May 7.
These artifacts reflect the rich cultural diversity of the Dark Continent, illustrating many of the lifestyles, beliefs and traditions of the native inhabitants, and arguably the highlights are the masks. Many of these are used in religious ceremonies and rituals, while the sculptures mostly represent deities, forefathers and historical figures.
The official opening of the Duende Africano exhibition takes place at 20.00 on March 24 at the Universidad Popular building which is located at Avenida Constitución 65.
