ARCHIVED - July 16, free Marina de Cope walking tour on the coast of Aguilas
Explore the wonderful countryside of the unspoilt coastal plain in northern Águilas
This walk takes place in the spectacular countryside of the regional park of Cabo Cope and Puntas de Calnegre, allowing participants to enjoy the natural scenery on offer, as well as walking past nesting areas for different bird species, Roman remains and even a natural warm water spring.
Comfortable clothing and footwear, a hat, water and sun cream are essential at this time of year!
The 4.7-kilometre walk begins at 9.30 at the Restaurante El Pozico in La Marina de Cope, at kilometre 11 on the RM-D14 road, and usually lasts approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.
Bookings should be made through the regional tourist board here as of approximately one month prior to the date of the event.
The visit is free, although the town would appreciate visitors enjoying a good lunch out in the town afterwards or staying in the town – the tourist office will be happy to provide you with details of where a good lunch can be obtained and accommodation details!

Oficina de Turismo de Águilas
Águilas boasts 28 kilometres of coastline, with many fine, sandy beaches, sheltered coves and unspoilt natural beaches. It is a great summer favourite with Spanish holidaymakers, so always has a superb programme of concerts and activities throughout the summer, as well as the biggest carnival in the Region of Murcia, 40 days before Semana Santa (Easter.)
Throughout the year it also has a number of museums and historical attractions, a castle with fabulous views overlooking the bay and several other points of interest, all of which make it an good place to visit for days out. Throughout the year the tourist office runs monthly guided tours and the route of the railways, which explores the railway history of the town.
The tourist information office is located in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos, just a short walk from the sea front and Plaza de España, a cool, shaded space in which to enjoy a coffee.
