ARCHIVED - Free cycling and hiking trails throughout November in Orihuela
Discover the Vega Baja town's treasures every weekend this month with a series of treks and rides for all the family
A month of trails and rides has been put together by Orihuela Council offering a great chance to "discover all of the municipality's treasures" every weekend this month.
"Whether you are travelling alone, as a couple or with the whole family you will have fun exploring historic sites, monuments and palaces, and sharing the experience with actors who will transport participants to that specific moment in history," assured Councillor for Tourism, Mariola Rocamora.
The trails are free but places are limited, so it's advisable to make a reservation at www.orihuelaturistica.es, where there is further information about each route.
The November line-up is as follows:
Saturday November 6th, 7.30pm - Dramatised route: Mysterious Orihuela. Departing from Fuente de la Armengola, Pozo de Cremos.
Sunday November 7, 10am - A Bike Ride to the Norias Gemelas. Setting off from Plaza del Carmen (don't forget to bring your bike).
Saturday November 13, 7pm - Dramatised route: The Pilgrim and the Worn Shoe (for children). Departing from Orihuela Tourist Information Centre.
Sunday November 14, 10am - Climb to the Castle. Departing from Orihuela Tourist Information Centre.
Saturday November 20, 7.30pm - Dramatised route: The Temptation of Velazquez. Departing from Santo Domingo School.
Sunday November 21, 11.30am - Miguel Hernandez 'Vida y Obra'. Setting off from Puerta de la Olma.
Saturday November 27, 7pm - Dramatised route: The Minstrel and the Worn Shoe (for children). Departing from Orihuela Tourist Information Centre.
Saturday November 27, 7.30pm - Monumental Route. Departing from Orihuela Tourist Information Centre.
Sunday November 28, 11.30am - La Muralla Museum. Departing from Orihuela Tourist Information Centre.
