ARCHIVED - Firefighters extinguish small blaze in Villena
The blaze was in the vicinity of a local school in Villena, Alta Vinalopó comarca
Firefighters in the municipality of Villena, in the province of Alicante, extinguished a small bushfire on Wednesday morning (July 28).
The blaze was located on a plot near a residential area and a local primary school, but thankfully firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
These kinds of fires are quite common in the summer months due to the high temperatures and can be caused naturally or by human actions, such as throwing a cigarette butt out of a car window.
Although in this case the fire didn’t cause much harm, when the flames get out of control it can lead to raging forest fires, like the ones seen in Andalucía last weekend.
