ARCHIVED - December 3 Fangoria y Las Nancys Rubias live in concert in the Mazarron Fiestas Patronales
Spanish post-punk legends perform at the Pabellón de Deportes La Aceña in Mazarrón
During the annual Fiestas Patronales in Mazarrón in early December a series of popular music concerts is being held at the Pabellón de Deportes La Aceña, with admission very well priced given the enduring popularity of many of the artists.
The second of these concerts takes place on Saturday December 3 at 22.00, when the opening gala of the Fiestas features Fangoria y las Nancys Rubias. Fangoria is the latest incarnation of singer Alaska, who first shot to fame in Spain as long ago as 1977 in the punk and post-punk era: Fangoria is the group she formed with keyboardist Nacho Canut in 1989. Since then they have been one of the most influential music groups in Spain, shaping the development of pop from Madrid with their own unique style.
Also performing are Las Nancys Rubias, led by Alaska’s husband Mario Vaquerizo.
Tickets for this concert are priced at 15 euros and can be purchased in person from November 27 onwards at the Pabellón de Deportes La Aceña and the tourist office in Puerto de Mazarrón, both of which are open from 9.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00. All takings are being donated to local charities: Cruz Roja Mazarrón, Cáritas Mazarrón, Cáritas Puertos de Mazarrón, AECC, D’Genes, Nuevo Rumbo, Anitema, Aproama, Afibromaz, Aspadem and the animal sanctuary.
