ARCHIVED - Applying for a Covid passport in the Region of Murcia
Online requests can be made for documents allowing travel throughout the EU
On Monday 14th June, over two weeks before the deadline set by the European Union, the Region of Murcia officially inaugurated the system by which it is possible to obtain the “Covid passports” which will allow trouble-free travel throughout the EU for all of those who are fully vaccinated against Covid or who have overcome coronavirus in the last six months.
The document can be requested by making an appointment with the “Admisión” department of local health centres, via the website and app of the regional government health department and at the “Delegaciones de Salud Pública” in Lorca and Cartagena, as well as at any of the 13 regional government offices devoted to “registro y atención al cuidadano”. These latter options are the most appropriate for those registered with private health insurance rather than in the SMS regional health service.
The Covid passport provides proof of one of three statuses: having been fully vaccinated, having returned a negative PCR test result in the 72 hours prior to travel, or having recovered from Covid-19 in the last 180 days. Private health laboratories have been accredited to carry out the necessary PCR tests.
The document can be issued in either digital form or hard copy and includes a scannable QR code to avoid falsification.
HOW TO REQUEST THE COVID PASSPORT IN MURCIA
Online: via the website sede.carm.es using either a personal digital certificate, electronic DNI or the “clave” system. The details of the scheme and application procedures are outlined here.
In person at local health and medical centres: via the usual appointments systems (click here), online or using the app. Those with health insurance provided by Muface, Mugeju and Isfas may book appointments at the “Delegaciones de Salud Pública” in Lorca and Cartagena or at any of the 13 regional government offices devoted to “registro y atención al cuidadano”.
