According to onlookers, the unfortunate driver had to swerve to avoid the high-speed race and crashed through the safety barrier before flipping over onto the road several metres below.
The occupants of the car, a 40-year-old man and a woman, aged 49, were transferred to the University Hospital of A Coruna. Incredibly, the driver was only slightly injured but the passenger is in a more serious condition, according to official sources.
