ARCHIVED - Black sheep: Cartagena runaway goat escapes... again!
The goat that sowed chaos in the centre of Cartagena escaped again from its farm the very next day
The goat that ran rampant through Cartagena city centre this Wednesday and was eventually caught in a jewellery store bathroom has escaped again.
A young male of the Iberian goat species, on Thursday the animal was taken to a farm in Canteras to be taken care of by local farmer José Rosas until the real owner could be located.
But almost immediately the animal got away again.
Mr Rosas found that the animal had strayed from the group of sheep his farmhands had put it with in a field in the Escarihuelas area, in the foothills of Mount Roldán.
“The goat did not graze with the sheep and moved away,” Rosas explained to Spanish press.
The farmer proceeded to round up his sheep before setting out to search for the stubborn goat, but said that he lacked the means and the time to take care of the animal on a permanent basis, so it was up to the authorities to take action.
Finally, though, at around 2pm, the shepherd found it, captured it and prepared to take it back to the farm in San José Obrero.
Police are still mystified as to where the goat came from in the first place and what it was doing in the middle of Cartagena this week.
