ARCHIVED - Benidorm to host spectacular night show with drones: Saturday December 4
The aerial show at Levante beach is the first of its kind in the Marina Baixa town, Alicante province
As part of Benidorm's Christmas programme of festive activities, a spectacular night show with drones will light up the skies above Levante beach on Saturday December 4.
This is the first aerial display of its kind in Benidorm, organised by Abreca business association and supported by Visit Benidorm and the Town Hall's Department of Festivals to "mark the start of the Christmas campaign". Full details of other activities are expected to be announced over the next few days.
"The show is a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand the huge possibilities offered by drone technology and what it can bring to tourism," said Councillor for Commerce, Lorenzo Martínez.
There will be two 10-minute 'night-flights' on the stretch of Levante beach between calles Sacerdote Juan Rodríguez and Bilbao, each with a different theme.
The first show is scheduled for 8.30pm and the second at 9.30pm, and Paseo de Levante will be closed to traffic for the duration of the displays.
Despite being an outdoor event, the Town Hall has stressed that mask wearing is necessary "to protect ourselves and enjoy the shows with caution to overcome this pandemic together and as soon as possible".
