On the 10th November Mula is holding its monthly artisan market, “Las 4 plazas” with a wide selection of different handicrafts, both edible and non-edible, including esparto grass, woodwork, meats and cheeses, olives and oil and jewellery.
The market is open from 10am until 2pm in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento
Its well worth visiting the old quarter of the town at any time as there are a number of historic buildings and churches which are open to the public, one of the most important being the El Cigarralejo museum of Iberian Art which contains a vast collection of artifacts relating to the El Cigarralejo archaeological site near to the modern day town.
This is a very important Iberian site and the museum has one of the best collections of Iberian pieces in Spain, There is also a new exhibition in the museum wihich has information panels in English as well as Spanish, focusing on the different roles of the Iberian woman in her society. The display covers a number of different facets of Iberian women, including as a priestess, mother, worker and even an earth goddess .
